ACK Natural, island's second dispensary, opening Saturday – The Inquirer and Mirror

By Brian Bushard

(July 22, 2021) Getting ACK Natural, the island’s second and potentially final marijuana dispensary, up and running has been a project nearly four years in the making.

Co-owner Mike Sullivan has been waiting for a seemingly never-ending string of town and state approvals, certifications and inspections to wrap up since 2018. This Saturday, they finally will, and the dispensary will open its doors for business.

“This is the beginning of year four for us and we’re just excited to see it through to get the doors open,” Sullivan said.

Everything about the 13,000 square-foot building near Nantucket Memorial Airport is designed specifically for marijuana production. The grow room looks like a laboratory. There are 2,000 plants growing hydroponically on the same regimen, from seed to cultivation, under grow lights and fans, all climate-controlled to mimic the sunrise, midday sun and sunset.
